  • Apr. 1957
    The artificial radioactivity survey of the atmosphere nuclear test was started at the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health(Shihiguchi, Fukui).
  • May. 1964
    The advance research of the environmental radioactivity was started in the Tsuruga Peninsula and around the sea where was the planned construction site of a nuclear power plant.
  • Nov. 1966
    Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health was transferred to Machiya-cho, Fukui (present Bunkyo 1-chome, Fukui)
  • Feb. 1969
    Fukui Environmental Radiation Monitoring Council was established.
  • Apr. 1969
    Fukui Prefectural Nuclear Safety Management Council was established.
  • Oct. 1969
    Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant No.1 went critical.
  • Nov. 1972
    Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health was transferred to Harame-cho, Fukui.

    The Radioactivity Department was established in the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health.
  • Oct. 1976
    The Environmental Radiation Monitoring Center was established in the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health.
    Environmental Radiation Monitoring Telemetry System started operation.
    (Continuous monitoring of the environmental radiation was started.)

    The Radioactivity Monitoring Building (present Fukui Analytical Management Office Building) was constructed in the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Public Health.

    New building was constructed in Yoshiko, Tsuruga (present Fukui Environmental Radiation Research and Monitoring Center Tsuruga Yoshiko site)
  • Apr. 1995
    Nuclear Power Plant Environmental Information Network System started operation. (Collecting the information of the nuclear power plant operation and of the environmental monitoring by nuclear facility operators was started.)
  • May. 1995
    Fukui Prefectural Environmental Radiation Research and Monitoring Center became independent of the Institute of Public Health.
  • Apr. 1997
    The Environmental Radiation Monitoring Telemetry System was replaced. (The connection with the Nuclear Power Plant Environmental Information Network System was done to share the monitoring data, and sub monitoring stations were expanded from 5 points to 11.)
  • Apr. 2000
    Collecting the stack gas monitor data was started at the Nuclear Power Plant Environmental Information Network System.
    The Prefectural Office Sub Monitoring Station was opened at the Prefectural Office Hall.

    Emergency monitoring equipment was provided in the Nuclear Emergency Response Operation Facility (Offsite Center) which was constructed newly in four places of Fukui Prefecture.

    Sub monitoring station and web site was renewed.
    The Environmental Radioactivity Monitoring Database System was replaced.
  • Apr. 2008
    Improved the Fukui prefectural telemeter system for environmental
    radiation monitoring. (Integrated the nuclear power environmental information network system.)
  • Apr. 2012
    5 prefectural monitoring stations were newly estblished.

    The web site was renewed (for data disclosure of newly-built stations, and so on).
